About us
Who We Are
We are an independent animal welfare organization based in Randburg, South Africa. We have been in operation since 2020 and rely entirely on the goodness of humanity. All of our work is funded by donations from animal loving individuals all walks of life.
Our Mission
To reach out and provide essential pet care services to disadvantaged and underprivileged homes throughout Johannesburg and surrounding townships. To educate the communities and break the cycles of cruelty to animals.
How We Achieve This
By traveling far and wide to reach out and assist animals in need of help, offering veterinary treatments and welfare services to those who cannot afford or access these crucial services for their pets. Pet sterilisation is one of our main goals, to prevent the over population of domestic pets and thereby preventing further suffering. We work in partnership with veterinary practices to access these professional services. We engage with pet owners and teach them how to look after their pets and better provide for their needs.
Who is Gideon
Gideon Morar founded Gideons Animal Outreach in 2020 with a vision of a brighter future for animals living side by side with their owners. His love for animals led to a career as a Senior Animal Welfare Inspector for over 10 years, a career which then became his calling in life. Gideon is now the Director and primary field officer for Gideons Animal Outreach and is on the front lines constantly. A man and his bakkie, slowly making the world a better place.

What we do
Our Outreach Services
Vaccinations
Pet inoculations have the ability to save lives and prevent the spread of contagious diseases. Puppies and kittens are extremely vulnerable to life threatening diseases, which can be prevented by a simple injection.
Parasite Treatment
External and internal parasites affect all animals in negative and often fatal ways. Intestinal worms, fleas, ticks and mites are just some of the parasites that we provide treatments against.
Sterilisation
We strongly promote the sterilisation of domestic pets to prevent unwanted litters, stray, homeless animals, and an overpopulation of animals who all too often end up neglected and unloved.
Veterinary Treatments and Surgeries
Whether our patients have a broken bone, open wound or a cancerous tumor, we facilitate the necessary treatments and surgeries through our vets to save lives and relieve suffering.
Safe Transport and Humane Handling
Transporting animals to and from our vet facilities is a huge responsibility and takes up a great deal of our time and resources. This is done with the greatest of care and consideration to the animals in our care, who are often very scared and confused.
Bedding and Shelter
Blankets, kennels and pet beds are collected and given out to provide comfort, protection and warmth to pets in need.
Food Parcels
Providing nutritious pet food to those who cannot afford it. Donations of pet food are collected and distributed on a regular basis to the various communities we assist.

We depend on donations to fulfil our mission. Financial support is needed to pay for our ongoing fuel costs, vet bills, equipment, vehicle maintenance, food and medical supplies. We accept and greatly appreciate any donations of:

Working together with communities
By engaging with communities and identifying challenges, we can improve the treatment and living conditions of animals. Many animals are kept chained up or confined to cages, which is a common practice due to lack of education and knowledge. These conditions can be improved when we work together with communities.
